A Microsoft Fabric Developer designs, builds, and maintains unified data analytics solutions using the Microsoft Fabric platform, combining data engineering (Lakehouses, Data Factory) and BI (Power BI). Key responsibilities include creating ETL/ELT pipelines, managing data via OneLake, optimizing data structures for Direct Lake, and implementing AI-driven insights.

Core Responsibilities

  • Data Engineering & Ingestion: Develop and configure Fabric Lakehouses and Data Warehouses, building ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark, T-SQL, and Dataflows Gen2.
  • Workload Migration & Integration: Migrate legacy Azure Databricks workloads and Azure Data Factory pipelines to Fabric.
  • Data Modeling & BI: Develop advanced Power BI reports and semantic models using Direct Lake mode.
  • Data Architecture & Governance: Implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and ensure data governance through OneLake.
  • Security & DevOps: Utilize Fabric Git Integration for version control and implement row-level security (RLS).

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Fabric Experience: Strong hands-on experience with Fabric Notebooks, Data Factory, Data Engineering, and Data Science experiences.
  • Data Engineering Skills: Proficiency in PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, and Kusto Query Language (KQL).
  • BI Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Power BI, DAX, and data modeling.
  • Cloud Architecture: Familiarity with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and data mesh architecture.
  • Certifications: Often requires or prefers Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
